Scientific Background
Ahmet Kurnaz is a doctoral candidate in Architecture Department at the Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University, where he serves as a research assistant. His research interests include conservation, architectural design, heritage, interior design, sustainable design, refunctioning historical buildings, and rural tourism and architecture.
Motivation
I am very interested in implementing circular economy in the built environment. Within the scope of the literature, field, and survey studies of my doctoral thesis so far, my article titled Examination of rural architecture that shapes sustainable tourism in emerging economies through stakeholder perspectives: Sile, Istanbul has been published in Current Issues in Tourism, which is the journal in Social Sciences Citation Index Q1. I also worked on the articles "Eco Efficiency Agendas in Neighbourhood Planning; An Evaluation From Examples," published in Duzce University Journal of Science and Technology, and "Green building certificate systems as a greenwashing strategy in architecture," published in Bartin University International Journal of Natural and Applied Sciences.
Contribution
Since implementing circular economy in the built environment is my field of interest and work, I would very much like to meet and work with the team on these subjects on a common ground. I would like to give my best contribution to this project.
